about

Imagineer &  Storyteller

Sharing stories that are filled with courage, romance, adventure, and magic is why I’m a writer.

My voice? Think ancient chronicles meets Star Wars: powerful women battling against a corrupt, evil empire for freedom and prosperity.

My Perspective

My perspective is shaped by my values of fairness, truth, excellence, and service, my love of nature and the power of the Universe, and a sense that love is magic. It shows up in every character and story.

When I’m not writing, editing, or proofreading, you’ll find me painting outside or in my studio, exploring art festivals, kayaking on a calm lake, reading a good book, or playing D&D with my long-time adventuring party.

I’m primarily an oil and oil pastel painter, focused on waterscapes and landscapes. Check out my art website at sjmcreations.com.

Inspirations

I’m endlessly drawn to Arthurian and historical romances. Bonds of love and loyalty can overcome any opponent or challenge. My shelves are full of stories where characters help each other resolve internal and external conflicts to find peace and love.

I can’t stop exploring books that show how people are all connected to each other and why.

What makes the best relationships click.

Before I called myself a writer…

I was a corporate drone with positions in internal communications, intranet management, web design, and then user experience design. Before that, I was a lowly college student without a clue where I was going and who I wanted to become.

Each of those chapters taught me that potential is limitless if you find YOUR path. This shapes how I tell stories, allowing characters to find courage to express themselves and pursue their destinies.
